If you already know your craft and only need to test, you may not need to sit through a full class first.
Rig Right Texas offers NCCER assessments and practical testing at our Portland training center, right across the bridge from Corpus Christi. We work with experienced craft professionals, workers who need to retest, and employers who need several employees assessed on one plan.

An assessment is for someone who already knows the work and needs to document that knowledge or skill. Training is for someone who still needs instruction, review, hands-on practice or help getting ready for the test.
An assessment may be the right choice when:
Training may make more sense when the math is rusty, you have not tested in years, you need hands-on practice or you are moving into a higher craft level.
If you are not sure, call us before paying for anything. We will help you figure out whether you need training, testing or focused preparation.
Depending on the craft and credential path, Rig Right Texas can help schedule:
NCCER offers assessments across many construction and industrial crafts. Contact us with the exact craft and level you need so we can confirm availability, language, price and appointment requirements.
You can also review NCCER’s official information about journey-level assessments and use its Find a Center tool.
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. If you already have an NCCER number, send it to us before your appointment and bring it with you.
Before test day, confirm:
Do not wait until you arrive to find out which assessment your employer requires. Send us the job requirement, craft and level before we schedule the test.
Spanish testing is available for many NCCER assessments. It is not available for every test, so call or text us with the exact craft and level before registering.
Rig Right Texas can confirm whether the assessment is available in Spanish, what identification is required and whether a practical examination is also part of the credential process.
Not passing does not automatically mean you need to start an entire program over.
Your results can show where you need more work. You can use that information to prepare for the weak areas before retesting. Rig Right Texas offers focused support for workers who need help with specific topics, calculations or hands-on skills.
If you need focused help before trying again, ask about prescription training and retest preparation.
Yes. Employers do not have to schedule every worker as a completely separate request.
Send us:
Some employees may be ready to assess. Others may need training first. A third group may only need focused preparation before a retest. We can help separate those needs before the company pays to put everyone through the same class.
Employers can also review our employee rigging training and testing options.
If you already understand advanced rigging, load calculations, sling angles, equipment inspection, center of gravity and lift-planning concepts, you may be ready to schedule the assessment.
If you have the field experience but need help turning that experience into written answers and math problems, the prep class may be the better choice.
See the current NCCER Advanced Rigger class dates.
You have already put time into learning your craft. If you are ready to test, start with the assessment instead of automatically registering for a full class.
Tell us the craft, level, language and type of testing you need. We will confirm the next step, price and available appointment times.
