Questions about assessment prep
What is included in the $500?
Live teacher instruction, study guides, practice tests, and your NCCER knowledge assessment when you test at Rig Right Texas. A $100 deposit applies to the $500 tuition, leaving $400.
Does this class include hands-on training?
No. This is focused preparation for the NCCER knowledge assessment. There is no hands-on training or practical exam portion.
Can you help me schedule an assessment near home?
Yes. Tori and Sarah will help you find options in your area and provide a list of testing areas or locations. Scheduling depends on availability at the other centers, and you may need to travel to a center that offers your assessment. Your assessment at Rig Right Texas is included in tuition; other centers set their own fees.
When do we test?
Test out Friday, October 23. Our team will confirm your assessment appointment time. If you test at another center, scheduling depends on that location.
How is class delivered?
Instruction is live on Zoom only with Max Knight. Class runs Monday through Wednesday, 6–9 PM Central. Assessment testing is scheduled separately at Rig Right Texas or another testing center.
Do I need experience to enroll?
We do not verify students’ work experience. A conversation with a student advisor can help you choose the class that best fits you.
How do I choose the right assessment prep class?
NCCER describes industrial electrical work around interpreting industrial drawings, power distribution and control equipment, raceways and cable systems, transformers, medium-voltage connections, and electrical hazards. Review NCCER’s official assessment description and outline to help you decide. The choice is yours; a student advisor can help you understand the class options.
Are class sessions recorded? What if I miss a class?
Class sessions are not recorded. Videos and study guides are available to help you review if you miss a session.
When is my remaining payment due?
The remaining $400 is due on the first day of class.
Is my deposit refundable or transferable?
The $100 deposit is non-refundable. You may transfer it one time. Contact our team to arrange the transfer.
What if I need to retake the assessment?
Retests at Rig Right Texas cost $175 and follow NCCER’s retest policies. If you choose, you can receive one hour of one-on-one review before a retest. Retest fees and availability at other centers depend on that center.
How long will I have access to the student portal and materials?
Access is available for 90 days. Student portal access, slides, student handouts, and other class information will be provided over the next week.
Is this class available in Spanish?
These assessment prep classes are available in English only at this time.
What should I bring on assessment day?
Bring a valid ID and your NCCER number. Our team will confirm any assessment-specific items before your appointment.
Can I join Zoom from my phone?
Yes. You may join class from your phone, but you must keep your camera on and actively participate. This applies to class instruction; assessment arrangements are confirmed separately.
Do you help students find job openings?
We share job openings received from employers and past students to help students who are looking for work. Employment is not guaranteed.
