If you have been rigging for years, you probably already know a lot of the material.
That does not always mean the NCCER Advanced Rigger test is going to feel easy.
The test takes things you do every day in the field and puts them into written questions, math problems, inspection questions, and hands-on testing.
That is where training can help.
Our Advanced Rigger class is not built for someone who has never seen rigging before.
NCCER describes Advanced Rigger certification as being for experienced riggers.
You can read the NCCER requirements here:
NCCER Rigger and Advanced Rigger Certification
If you have been working around cranes, loads, slings, shackles, hooks, and rigging equipment, you already have something to build from.
Our job is to help you take what you know from the field and get ready to show it on the test.
You may know exactly how a load needs to be rigged and still have trouble when the same situation is written as a math problem.
We work through:
We do not rush through it.
If you do not understand something, ask.
We will work through it again.
You use rigging equipment at work, but the test may ask for specific inspection requirements, terminology, or limits that you do not think about every day.
We review slings, shackles, hooks, blocks, hitches, inspections, and how the equipment is supposed to be used.
You can also look through NCCER's official Rigger curriculum before class:
Advanced Rigger certification is not just a written test.
NCCER's certification process also includes practical testing.
We want you to have time to work with the equipment and practice before you are being tested on it.
That is why our class includes hands-on training along with the classroom material.
Because you are trying to get the credential.
You have already put years into learning the work.
If the math is rusty, you have not taken a test in years, or you are not sure what NCCER is going to expect, it makes sense to prepare before you test.
The class is there to help you walk into testing knowing what you are looking at.
