How testing works (NCCER)
Two parts: Written & Practical
Written: computer-based questions covering theory and math.
Practical: you rig, set up, and execute a pick under supervision.
Timing between parts
You have 12 months from passing one part to pass the other, or the first expires.
If you need to retest
After the first try, you can retest after 2 days.
After two attempts, wait becomes 30 days.
Maximum 4 attempts in any 365-day window.
Credential validity
Pass both parts and earn NCCER Advanced Rigger. It’s valid for 5 years; recert testing must be done within 180 days of expiration.
Why Rig Right Texas stands out
2 hours of practical prep — many places skip hands-on training; we emphasize it.
We slow down for you: prescription training tailored to your learning speed.
Every module, no shortcuts. We cover all content thoroughly.
Other schools hide their pass rates — we train for the practical so more people pass.
Small classes: real one-on-one attention, not overcrowded lectures.
Financing & weekly payments: we offer plans to break your balance into weekly payments up to class date, or other in-house financing. Ask us what works for you.
What to bring for the practical
PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots, long pants, hi-vis clothing.
Photo ID required for testing.
Water, snacks, and anything you need for a full workday.
