Is Stage Rigging Certification the Same as Industrial Rigging Certification?

By Mike Sanchez · September 14, 2026

Stage rigging and industrial rigging both involve suspended loads, but they are different kinds of work. Stage riggers work around entertainment equipment, lighting, truss and live events. Industrial riggers work around cranes, heavy materials, construction sites, refineries and plants. The training or credential for one path may not meet the requirements of the other.

If your goal is refinery, plant or construction work, look for industrial rigging training that matches the employer’s requirements. Rig Right Texas offers NCCER Basic Rigger and NCCER Advanced Rigger training in Portland, Texas.

Do not spend time and money on a course that points toward the wrong job. Call or text Rig Right Texas before registering if you are unsure which rigging path fits the work you want.
