Meet Your Instructor
Owner and NCCER-certified instructor at Rig Right Texas with 20 years of refinery experience, helping students understand the work—not just memorize answers.
Real Experience. Clear Instruction.
Mike Sanchez is the owner of Rig Right Texas and has 20 years of experience working in refineries. His background includes carpentry, concrete finishing, reinforcing ironwork, structural ironwork, procurement and rigging.
That experience gives Mike a practical understanding of how different crafts, materials, equipment and jobsite responsibilities connect. He teaches students in English and Spanish and focuses on the skills they need to understand rigging safely and prepare for NCCER assessments.
Mike teaches NCCER Advanced Rigger, Basic Rigger and Signal Person training. He is also available for employer and crew training based on the company’s workforce, location, equipment, schedule and project requirements.
His approach is direct and practical. He slows down when students need more help, works through rigging math step by step and connects classroom material to situations students may face in the field.
Mike is known for giving students extra one-on-one time when they need it. He makes sure each student receives the explanation, information and practice they need to understand the material. His teaching style is patient, encouraging and focused on helping students keep moving forward.
20 Years in Refinery Work
Mike’s field experience is broader than rigging alone. He has worked across multiple refinery crafts and support functions, giving him a practical view of how industrial work is planned and performed.
