What this program is
This is a comprehensive, standardized construction safety program built to strengthen jobsite safety culture and help trainees recognize and control common construction hazards. NCCER’s Construction Site Safety program is widely used by contractors and owners and is designed to prepare trainees for industry-recognized safety certifications.

NCCER’s Construction Site Safety program includes safety training such as Basic Safety, Field Safety, and Safety Technology (how to implement/administer a safety program).
Basic Safety / CSSO
- Basic Safety (Construction Site Safety Orientation) aligns to OSHA’s 10-hour program.

Safety training credentials through NCCER
NCCER issues three safety training designations: Construction Site Safety Orientation (CSSO), Construction Site Safety Supervisor (CSSS), and Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST).
- CSSO: Earned by completing the Basic Safety module
- CSSS: Built for field managers/supervisors responsible for jobsite safety
- CSST: Built for safety professionals/site safety coordinators/foremen
